Nothing like taking a forced break….
Not feeling great today- it’s been building up all week so I’m forcing myself to rest up. But while I’m in bed……
Nothing like tv and stitching to take your mind off it!

It was cold, cold, cold here on Friday night so I managed to snuggle up in front of the tv and get some stitching done for FNSI.
A new design, I’ve been stitching it in my favourite Cottage Garden threads, gorgeous variegated colours and truly Australian. I’ve been using Cherry Blossom, perfect shades of red and pink…just love them, don’t you?
Earlier in the day I finished off some Christmas in July swap gifts…I’m sure my partner doesn’t read my blog so I can share (and if she does, well………..you won’t REALLY know they’re yours till they arrive now will you?)
Over the weekend, I’ve been busy doing ‘other things’…still crafty but ‘different’.
I took part in a workshop and transformed this ugly duckling….
…into this using an Australian-branded Chalk Paint!
I think she’s beautiful…..she’s still needing some dressing up, but I have dyed a lace doily in the same blue in the stencil and will be making it into a lovely chair cushion, so she doesn’t feel so…….naked.
So, have you had a chance to pop in to visit everyone else to see what they accomplished for FNSI? Check back HERE to see ……gee I hope the links work this time….don’t know what happened with them this month, I’ve had no response from the developer so please forgive me if you can’t easily get to some of our stitchers. I’ll definitely be following up on this. grrrr
Now, seeing as it’s Christmas in July, and lots of our FNSI-ers had Christmas projects in mind, I found this great pattern as our July prize.
I wonder if MR RNG will pick your name out of the hat this month to win Holly? Make sure you’ve got your post up on your page sharing your Friday night adventures by Monday and if you have and your name gets drawn, you win this month’s prize!
Can’t wait to see what everyone got up to…..good luck!

You can read all about it in this post over at Patchwork Posse.
In the meantime, it’s the first Friday of the month, so it’s time for FNWF over at Cheryll’s place. Time to get the stitching gear ready….have you been over to sign up yet? Don’t forget….it’s always so much fun!

It’s that time! Time to reveal the next block in the “Friends” Block of the
Month Fortnight Stitch-a-long. We’re halfway there……this one is block number 5.
“Hugs”. I am a bit of a touchy-feely kinda friend……I love my hugs and telling my friends how important they are to me. Life’s too short to NOT share the love and we all know how therapeutic touch can be. Whilst researching the importance of hugs, I found these 6 reasons why we need touch on a regular basis (quoted from) HERE…
Don’t let yourself get too busy that you starve yourself of touch. It’s important for your physical, mental and emotional well being and there’s nothing better than a genuine warm friendly hug from a friend!
So head on over to my Craftsy shop and download your free block now, with my personal squishy hug to you. You can collect the other 4 blocks there too, if you haven’t already done so – they’re all FREE right up until the last block is released. Make sure you pop back every fortnight to get the next block, or if you like, subscribe to my blog via email or your favourite blog subscriber, such as Bloglovin’ or Feedly, so you never miss a block. And don’t forget to head on over and join our stitch-a-long group on Facebook and feel the Sugarlane Love!
xox sugary hugs :o)
Yep, it’s time! Block 2 is ready for you to download. You can get your free copy from my Craftsy store, where you’ll also find Block 1, and lots of my other patterns. I just love this one….. It just about sums it up for me….Friends just complete me….they bring such joy and happiness to my life, filling it to the brim….it always feels like sunshine when my friends are around me…or just knowing they’re in my heart gives me strength, just like the flower, growing stronger each day because the sunlight shines upon it……do you feel the same way too? Head on over and print off your copy so we can all stitch together in our monthly, worldwide friendship sew-in and have a ‘happiness overload’ night ……. have you signed up yet? You can do that HERE if you haven’t had the chance yet. You know you want to, and I’ve even made it easy for you with something ready to stitch! (or you could be like me and choose something from the UFO pile?) See you tonight. xox Sugary hugs with happiness galore :o)
While I ‘babysit’ Mum-in-law. Using some gorgeous Cottage Garden threads….just love how they stitch out! Off to prepare lunch….hope you’re getting lots done
